Jesus Condemns the Greed of the Powerful and Commends the Heart of the Humble

The greed of the powerful that plunders the weak in the name of religion is a sin before God.

The greed that robs the wealth and life of the humble is the work of Satan that destroys God’s justice.

When you are deceived by Satan, your body becomes ill and your wealth vanishes.

Do not live as a puppet of Satan, masked in hypocrisy.

Jesus watches our actions.

Jesus warned against the teachers of the law who like to walk around in flowing robes and be greeted in the marketplaces, and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets. They devour widows' houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. Stay away from such people.

Hypocritical scribes and religious leaders are those outside of Christ.

Enter through the narrow gate.

The gate of greed is wide and many enter through it, but it ultimately leads to destruction.

Examine whether you are using your power and wealth to save souls and for the weak.

Jesus encouraged and commended the widow who put in two very small copper coins. What He commended was not the amount of her offering.

He commended her faith that concluded with the Lord Jesus Christ, entrusting her entire life to him alone and putting everything she owned into the treasury.

Remember Jesus Christ, who condemns the greed of the powerful and commends the heart of the weak.

With the name of Jesus Christ, The LORD God, a father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream.

(Mark 12:38-44, Matthew 7:13, Psalms 68:5, Amos 5:24)
