The Antioch Church — Why They Were Called Christians and Received Overflowing Answers
The early church never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Christ in the temple courts and from house to house.
Because of this, they were persecuted, and Paul, who declared openly that Jesus is the Christ, was martyred.
Jesus was crucified because He said He is the Messiah Christ.
Even today, churches dislike it when Jesus is proclaimed as the Christ in evangelism.
Faith that Jesus is the Christ is not something anyone can simply believe.
No one can confess that Jesus is Lord and Christ except by the Holy Spirit.
Unless we acknowledge that we ourselves are liars disguised as angels of light, greedy people seeking only to fill our stomachs, and children of the devil – we cannot truly believe in Jesus Christ, who came to destroy the devil’s work, Christ who finished all the problems of our sin on the cross.
If we lead our walk of faith without experiencing that Jesus is the Christ, even if we attend church, we end up under Satan’s influence, receiving a false spirit.
We cannot escape religious idols, fortune-telling, astrology, and shamanism, and we struggle according to our own benefit.
This is the reality of today’s churches in the fields.
Just as God performed extraordinary miracles through Paul's hand, if we proclaim Christ personally to ourselves and share the gospel, sicknesses will leave, demons will flee, and our spiritual eyes will be opened to see this age clearly.
On the other hand, if we do not engrave, root, and internalize that Jesus is the Christ and only imitate outwardly, we will be defeated like the sons of Sceva, the Jewish priest.
Christ is perfect and sufficient.
Do not focus on worthless things but call only on the name of Christ.
When we escape the pride of Babylon, the path of destruction, and boldly proclaim that Jesus is the Christ, answers will come as much as we call and proclaim that Jesus is the Christ.
The Antioch church, which frequently proclaimed and confessed the name of Christ, received the power and glory of the Lord Jesus Christ so abundantly that they were called “Christians.” Amen!
